Lassa Fever: New Case Confirmed In Oyo


A new case of Lassa fever has been confirmed at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan where the patient, an eight month old baby has been receiving treatment, bringing the number of cases in Oyo State to two.

Chief Medical Director of UCH, Professor Temitope Alonge, the first patient has been treated and discharged.

More than 40 people have now been killed by the fever caused by Lassa virus which is transmitted by a species of rate with multiple br**sts.
Over 90 people have been infected with the disease.
