Tottenham
could block a future Gareth Bale move by matching any offer another
Premier League club makes for the Real Madrid star, according to leaked
documents of his contract.
The
Welshman left White Hart Lane for La Liga in 2013 in a world-record
deal, and Manchester United are just one of the teams keen on bringing
him back to England.
But
Spurs could stop a switch to Old Trafford as Real would be obliged to
notify the north London club if they intend to accept a rival bid, which
could equal or even exceed that £86million fee.
The documents have been released by Football Leaks, who recently disclosed information about Anthony Martial's deal to United.
Tottenham
would have a 72-hour window to complete a buy-back deal for Bale, who
has scored 41 goals in his 73 league games at Real, with their bid
taking preference over any others.
The
option to re-sign Bale only lasts until June 30, 2019 and the clause
does not come into effect should a non-Premier League club make an
offer. Bayern Munich are also thought to retain an interest in Bale.

The alleged
transfer contract reads: 'In the event that TOTTENHAM does match the
Third Party Offer, Real Madrid shall be required to accept TOTTENHAM'S
offer in preference to any other offers received (including any higher
offers received following Real Madrid's receipt of the Third Party
Offer) and transfer the Player as soon as possible in the first
available FA Registration Period to TOTTENHAM.'
United
hope assistant Ryan Giggs can influence Bale's decision and are
prepared to make a renewed effort to sign the Welshman this summer.

The
documents also confirm that Bale cost more than Cristiano Ronaldo (£83m)
and Madrid agreed to pay the fee to Tottenham in four installments.
A
clause inserted in the original deal also suggests that if Real chose
to sell Bale back to the Premier League before September 1 2015 they
would have to pay his former club £10m.
The
Spanish press picked up the story on Thursday morning, with Marca
claiming Real want to reward the committment of Bale with an improved an
extended contract.
His current deal at the Bernebau ends in 2019, but Los Blancos want to extend it until 2021.
AS meanwhile report that Madrid and Tottenham agreed to communicate that the fee for Bale was £70m.
Tottenham declined to comment.
